This customer required a high flow fresh water transfer pump which would be free from corrosion and therefore keep the water contaminant free. We selected a bronze pump which we knew would be able to handle this type of fluid without any complications. We also decided to couple the pump with an electric 4 pole motor running at 1450 RPM which would increase the lifespan of the pump and in time, reduce overall costs.

Castle Pumps are able to supply pumps for both marine and industrial applications, and pride themselves on supplying pumps that best match the customers requirements. This enquiry was for self priming sea water injection pumps but the customer requested that the material be stainless steel 316, rather than the recommended material of bronze. We were able to provide a suitable pump that matched the customers requirements and which came in the requested material of stainless steel.
This pipeline pig manufacturer was hiring diesel driven pumps every time outdoor testing was taking place, but found that the hired pumps were noisy and inaccurate. They therefore wanted to purchase their own pump which would produce 80 l/sec at 8-10 bar, which was capable of 3-10 minute cycles, 6-10 times a day, with a maximum current of 158 A.

A wood and laminate flooring company in the UK needed to gravity feed an adhesive from an IBC to a piece of machinery in their product line, in order to apply the solution in a particular way to their products. One of the main factors we had to consider was the thickness of the fluid - with a viscosity of 4000-5000 cP, we selected a gear pump which we knew could handle this type of fluid. Furthermore, by selecting a gear pump we were also able to achieve the low flow rate that the customer required.

A UK oil manufacturer wanted a vane pump which could pump furnace oil as well as needing the pump to clear the lines and dry run for short periods of time. The customer had received a quote from elsewhere but the lead time was 6-7. Here at Castle Pumps we were able to supply a vane pump fitted with duravanes, an ATEX motor and a pressure relief valve. We were able to make and deliver the pump, baseplate mounted, within 4 weeks.
Castle Pumps pride themselves on providing perfect solutions to every customer’s requirements and this case study is a prime example. In addition to a quick turnaround, the customer needed a precise operating temperature, capacity and discharge pressure, and the fluid needed to maintain the same temperature whilst being pumped. Castle Pumps have scores of experience supplying pump solutions to the marine industry. An existing customer contacted us with a new enquiry for a solids handling sea water pump, which needed to be less costly and have better lead times than existing pumps. We offered and supplied a non-clogging centrifugal pump with a vortex impeller, which can handle solids as large as the discharge diameter. Minimal modifications were needed to their existing system and lead time and price were improved greatly.
Castle Pumps have in house software that is able to select and compare pumps in their database, in order to match the client’s specification. The customer wanted replacement units but wanted to re-use their existing control panels, as well as needing the pump to handle thermal oil operating temperatures of 300ºC. Once confirmation had been given and everything was agreed, a quote was generated within 48 hours.
Castle Pumps' range is so vast that it includes pumps that other distributors do not have access to. For example, in this case study the client had approached other suppliers who were unable to fulfil their requirement of a self priming centrifugal pump able to handle flow rates of up to 8,300 l/min.
